The Scenario
Are
you up to the challenge?
The 2008 National
Severe Weather Workshop will feature a realistic role-playing scenario
where you can experience what it's like to fill someone else's shoes as
a severe weather emergency unfolds! As an Emergency Manager, or TV News
Producer/Talent, or a Meteorologist you will be presented with several
challenges including:
- Dealing with multiple weather-related hazards at the same time
- Informing large venue operators of potential impacts and possible evacuation
- Deciding how to manage media content during the event
The workshop exercise is designed to inform and educate and will be conducted over
a two-day period beginning Thursday afternoon, March 6, and resuming Friday afternoon, March 7.
